This is a story about two single mothers of teenage twins. One mother is human, the other is a mountain lion. Both mothers are trying their best to raise their teenage children in the modern world.
Being a single mother is not an easy task, being a single mother of adolescent twins is difficult at best. Each mother has a dutiful daughter and a son who can easily be swayed from good to bad depending on who is doing the swaying.
This is also a story of love and life and death with the inevitable meetings in the forest between these two families.
The fictional story takes place in the foothills of the western slope of the Sierra Nevada.
The author, having completed the Western States 100 mile foot race ten times, is very familiar with these trails and paints a vivid description of both the trails and the characters that live and run on them.
